On
Sunday night before the surgery, Chris anointed and Dad gave me a
blessing.
It was really nice. He blessed the doctors that they would not only rely
on their knowledge and training but that they would be aware of other
things presented to them. He also blessed that I would heal without
complications. We called my Dad and Mom and put them on speaker phone so
they could be a part of the blessing also.
Well the big surgery is over and as you’re aware they didn’t find any tumors. They did find some white stuff below my ovaries, the doctor didn’t know what it was but he took it out anyway. With him dealing with cancer if he thought it was cancer I think he would have said so. So now we are waiting for the staging to be done. He said we should call him next Tuesday to find out the results. He was able to do it laparascopically – he didn’t have to open me up or do anything with my bowel. I have (4) little incisions. I hurt quite a bit, especially when I go from sitting to standing or rolling from side to side. Sitting (for not too long) is ok and walking or lying down is ok; it’s the transition that’s the killer. Thank goodness for pain meds other than they make you so sleepy but I guess that helps me to heal so I'll keep taking them for the time being. It’s interesting for me to note that when I was in the hospital in St. George, I felt awful. I had pain but it’s more how I felt – sick. Where this time I don’t feel sick, I am in pain. Both feelings are yuck but each different. I was able to come home that same day. Sometimes I wish I had stayed overnight but all in all it worked out. I set my alarm to take my pain pills so it worked out. Dad stayed home with me the next day to help out. Some things he wasn’t thrilled to help out with, especially things that I have to bend over twist or turn with. He was a trooper though. Today Austin stayed home with me, lucky for him he didn’t have to help me with the bathroom… He’s been pretty good to help in general though.
